What are the possible outcomes of taking BS Mathematics?

I am planning to take BS Mathematics but I am still hesitating because I was wondering whether it would give me alot of income when i finish college… What are the job opportunities considering that I live in the Philippines? (aside from being a professor)

Incomes will vary, but mathematics is everywhere. You can go into so many areas of the world.

You can work with computers as a computational mathematician solving algorithms for software and video games.

The applied sciences is another field. You can solve the mathematical parts of an engineering project or use mathematics in the chemistry and physics fields.

You can become a systems analyst and help a business with its math problems, or you can be an actuary for an insurance company.

Maybe a career in the government helping them with the statistics and curve charts, and a lot more.

Many things have their fundamental roots in mathematics like computers, a vital technology in the world, physics, and financial patterns, economics, etc.

Everything needs mathematics, so if one job fails, you have more options than say someone in chemistry, psychology, history, or other focused disciplines.

wooh! you’re tough. hmm. i’m taking BS (Applied Mathematics) here in the University of the Philippines Visayas. some Professors said that actuarial science will be in our field, if ever, working in industries, etc. Also we can be working in banks…
    and many more. Go!

took up bs math ages ago. it was also known as pure math then. i think the curriculum was largely math matters for future math students. you’ll probably end up teaching math, or getting hired as a company employee.
suggest you check out other math courses with more specialized or practical approach such as applied math, statistics, engineering, computer science, etc.
or better yet, dream big: set up you own business, be your own boss, and earn much more!
