Author: Do you think a score of 720 on the SAT BIOLOGY MOLECULAR Subject Test (SAT II) is decent for a freshman?
I took the SAT II Biology Test this summer after the BIO course I had last year as a freshman …I know a lot of people get around 750 and above…so any opinions?

Molecular Biology: Can I use an IRES-reporter vector for shRNA?
I want to create a vector for transient transfection that will express a short (100 bp) stem-loop RNA but also has a reporter like luciferase or EGFP. Is this even possible to do using an IRES vector? My guess is no…

Should I get a Mac or PC for molecular biology major?
I need something that’s light, portable and is at least 13″ in screen size. I’m not a gamer, so my computer will only be used for school work and web surfing. My friend’s friend is willing to sell me an almost brand new macbook for about $550ish, but it doesn’t have a warranty. Should I just buy the macbook or look for PC? Note: my budget is in between $500-600.

i am accepted into UCLA, UCSD and UC Berkeley..i havent made a decision yet and i was wondering if biochem and molecular biology department in berkeley has a lot of competition. how is the grading in berkeley..is it a bell curve??is it extremely hard??isnt berkeley the only uc using the semester system??
is it better to major in Biology or molecular biology for pre-med?Why?
A major in Biology is general and covers unessary things(ecology…) while Molecular biology is more specific and deals with DNA, genetics and proteins. Which is better for pre-med and why between these two majors?
