What are the latest updates about Mathematics?
What are the latest update about Mathematics? Are there any new leanings? I need a research about it. Actually, I already have two articles about it but my teacher said I need 3-5 more articles. Well, I can’t find any more articles so I ended up here asking your help! If you found article(s) already, kindly also state the website or source of the information. I know its quite hard but I do really appreciate your help! Thanks for your help!
What should be the foundation of mathematics?
Mathematics is the most important science but its foundation needs to be established reasonably and without any mistake. Which of the following items should be used to construct the foundation?
(1) Any set of man-made rules , such as the rules for the basketball game.
(2) Observations based on common sense, for example, a straight line can extend endlessly and two straight lines have only one intersection or have no intersection.
(3) Classification of real or imagined objects into sets. People can define the sets at will.
(4) Several axioms that can be tested constantly by common sense and extensive scientific experiments.
(5) The statements of a few famous mathematicians.
(6) none of the above.
Does anybody use LaTex on the mathematics forum here?
I’ve been hearing about LaTex as a really cool way to write and read mathematics equations on the computer. Can a Tex converter be used like for internet explorer documents? Can it be used or is it supported by yahoo answers?
If yes to any of these, how should I go about dipping my feet into LaTex, as I’ve never done it before.
Thanks for any info.
What was the main area of mathematics that Bejamin Banneker studied?
Look @ the question. Main area of mathematics that Benjamin Banneker the mathematician studied????!!!!!
Is there high level science without mathematics?
I’m quite good at biology/chemistry and really hope to study these at advanced levels. As much as I would love to be, however, I am not a math person. I have a poor mastery of basics (have been to over nine schools with different teaching systems/curriculae) etc.
Should I get better familiarized with mathematics before starting advanced courses in bio/chem or would this be pointless in the long run?
thanks.
What subjects/courses should I take if I want a degree in Mathematics?
I’m interested in doing a degree in Mathematics when I’m in university. But, I’m not sure what other subjects/courses I should take to do it.

Are there any engineering fields that rely on mathematics?
I’m wondering because I want mathematics and some form of engineering in college just because you can’t really get anywhere with just a math major. So are there any fields of engineering that rely heavily on mathematics or somewhat? Help is appreciated.
Is it true that men are better at mathematics than women?
I heard that women are not good at math. And, men are better at it than women. I also heard that women are better in English than mathematics. I know some women who are not good at math. I’m one of them I’m better in English. So, my question is is this true? Are men better in mathematics than women? Or, is this a myth? If so, why is that the case?
Do you think that computers help or hurt the developement of mathematics?
In the past a lot of neat math was created to allow people to solve problems without resorting to brute computation. Often times clever little tricks were created to circumvent ugly looking equations. Will the creation of computers that can do a lot of computation very quickly ultimately slow progress in mathematics?
