What’s the difference between the textbooks “introductory chemistry” and “introductory chemistry essentials”?

They’re both by the author Nivaldo J. Tro.
My school recommended “introductory chemistry”, but if there’s not much difference b/w the 2, then i don’t wanna buy something more expensive.
Oh and I forgot to mention,
They’re both 3rd editions too.

My class is going to be raising koi in a large tank that’s indoors. My job is to find out the ideal water chemistry for the koi. I need to know such things as:
Temperature
pH
Dissolved Oxygen
Ammonia
Nitrates
Water Hardness
And anything else you can think of that could possibly affect koi.

Why is it important to use DI water when conducting experiments in Chemistry?

I am in a beginning Chemistry class and we conducted an experiment where we separated a mixture of sodium chloride and calcium carbonate by dissolving it into DI water and then filtering out the solid left-overs. My question is, why is using DI water so important, what if we used regular tap water? Would it affect the separation of the two compounds?
